Established in 2023
Muwayi Foundation was founded in February 2023 in Jinja, Uganda, born out of a shared concern among a small group of passionate community members who witnessed firsthand the daily struggles faced by vulnerable children, youth, and families in and around Jinja limited access to education, poor health services, and a lack of opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.
What began as a grassroots initiative, with a handful of volunteers reaching out to a few struggling households, has since grown into a structured organization committed to long-term community transformation. In our early days, our efforts focused on identifying the most pressing needs within local communities distributing school supplies to children who could not afford them, organizing basic health awareness sessions, and connecting unemployed youth and women with vocational training opportunities.
Since our founding, Muwayi Foundation has remained rooted in the belief that lasting change starts at the community level. Guided by our mission to empower disadvantaged communities through education, health, and livelihood support, we have continued to build partnerships with local leaders, well-wishers, and like-minded organizations to expand our reach across Jinja.
Though still a young organization, Muwayi Foundation carries a bold vision: a Uganda where every child can learn, every family can thrive, and every community has the power to shape its own future. From our founding in February 2023 to today, that vision continues to drive everything we do.
